Political Calendar 2009

Primary Election - September 15, 2009
General Election - November 3, 2009

• Aug. 21 - Last day to register for Primary Election at the Board of Elections. Mailed registrations must be postmarked by this date and received by the Board of Elections by Aug. 26.
• Aug. 26 - Last day to notify Board of Elections of change of address.
  
  
• Sept. 8 - Last day to postmark application for Absentee Ballot.
• Sept. 14 - Last day to apply in person for an Absentee Ballot.
• Sept. 14 - Last day to postmark Absentee Ballot. Must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Sept. 22.
• Sept. 15 - Last day to deliver Absentee Ballot in person to the Board of Elections.
  
  
• Primary Election - Tuesday, September 15, 2009.
  Erie County:  polls open at 6 a.m., close at 9:00 p.m.
  Niagara County:  polls open at 12:00 noon, close at 9:00 p.m.
  
  
• Oct. 9 - Last day to register for the General Election. Mail registration must be postmarked by this date and received by the Board of Elections not later than October 14. Exceptions: if you have been honorably discharged from the military or have become a naturalized citizen since Oct. 9, you may register in person at the Board of Elections up until Oct. 23.
• Oct. 14 - Last day to notify Board of Elections of change of address.
• Oct. 27 - Last day to postmark application or letter of application for Absentee Ballot for the General Election.
  
  
• Nov. 2 - Last day to apply in person for Absentee Ballot for General Election.
• Nov. 2 - Last day to postmark Absentee Ballot. Must be received no later than Nov. 10.
• Nov. 3 - Last day to deliver Absentee Ballot in person to the Board of Elections.
  
  
• General Election - Tuesday, November 3, 2009.
  Polls open at 6 a.m., close at 9:00 p.m.
