Primary Election - September 9, 2008
General Election - November 4, 2008
- Aug. 15 - Last day to register for Primary Election at the Board of Elections. Mailed registrations must be postmarked by this date and received by the Board of Elections by Aug. 20.
- Aug. 20 - Last day to notify Board of Elections of change of address.
- Sept. 2 - Last day to postmark application for Absentee Ballot.
- Sept. 8 - Last day to apply in person for an Absentee Ballot.
- Sept. 8 - Last day to postmark Absentee Ballot. Must be received by the Board of Elections no later than Sept. 16.
- Sept. 9 - Last day to deliver Absentee Ballot in person to the Board of Elections.
- Primary Election - Tuesday, September 9, 2008.
Erie County: polls open at 6 a.m., close at 9:00 p.m.
Niagara County: polls open at 12:00 noon, close at 9:00 p.m.
- Oct. 10 - Last day to register for the General Election. Mail registration must be postmarked by this date and received by the Board of Elections not later than October 15. Exceptions: if you have been honorably discharged from the military or have become a naturalized citizen since Oct. 10, you may register in person at the Board of Elections up until Oct. 24.
- Oct. 15 - Last day to notify Board of Elections of change of address.
- Oct. 28 - Last day to postmark application or letter of application for Absentee
Ballot for the General Election.
- Nov. 3 - Last day to apply in person for Absentee Ballot for General Election.
- Nov. 3 - Last day to postmark Absentee Ballot. Must be received no later than Nov. 11.
- Nov. 4 - Last day to deliver Absentee Ballot in person to the Board of Elections.
- General Election - Tuesday, November 9, 2008.
Polls open at 6 a.m., close at 9:00 p.m.
