| Erie County Legislator Select District to View Candidates |
TERM: 2 YEARS - SALARY: $42,588 - One Legislator will be elected from each of the County's 15 Districts. The Erie County Legislature is composed of fifteen districts. The powers granted by the Erie County Charter enable the legislature to: make appointments; levy taxes; incur indebtedness; adopt, amend, and repeal the Administrative Code; create, alter combine, or abolish administrative units not headed by elected officers; fix the compensation of all officers and employees paid from county funds; fix the amount of bonds of officers and employees; make studies and investigations for the county, obtain professional advice as needed, and acquire the books and papers necessary to the study; appoint temporary advisory boards of citizens; subpoena witnesses and administer oaths; determine new programs and phase out or expand existing programs. |
