Great Decisions Program

The Great Decisions Program focuses on discussing what is happening around the globe. This year the Foreign Policy Association, which sponsors Great Decisions, is celebrating its 90th year of operation. LWVBN has long been offering citizens an opportunity to inform themselves through the Great Decisions Program on some of the world's greatest challenges.

Topics for 2008:
Iraq - European Union at age 50 - Blacklisting the Enemy - Russia and Putinism - US Defense Policy - Latin America - US-China Economic Relations - Foreign Aid

We meet the first Thursday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon at the League Office, 1272 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, except for July, August and December.

Amherst Unit

The Amherst Unit of LWVBN regularly monitors the Amherst Town Board working group and regular board meetings. We have eight Lunch and Issues programs held at Scotch and Sirloin Restaurant at 11:30 AM on the 3rd Friday. Our speakers address a variety of issues related to government, environment and current topics. We also maintain cleanup on Klein Road and have two general meetings yearly. The public is invited to participate at our events and is cordially invited to join LWVBN.
